So, I thought it would be fun to bring back Bob and Jim from my earlier sketch Basketball and Bullies… see how they’re doing in the world of novelty sportscasting. Last time it was third grade…

Radio Serials Wrapup →
Oops! Very late, sorry. I’ve had my nose buried in “Anathem” for the past few days, every moment I’m not working or sleeping, so I kinda let this slip. A bit. Again, sorry.
Anyway… DNW went searching…

EXT. BASE OF MOUNT HOOPER - MORNING

Here Come the Blips
davislove:
Sometimes on days like these I’m inclined to blip songs that go with the kind of mood that I’m in. I build a playlist that suits me. I start to think that maybe I shouldn’t post them to twitter because it annoys people. But what are blips? There just tweets with a soundtrack as far as I’m concerned. So if my random blipfests annoy people I can’t let it bother me. And if I’m...
And that douchebag Hamilton. Can you freaking believe that guy? Jesus, he’s...
– James Madison, from a letter to his friend Derek, 1793. (via delgrosso)
Dearest Dolley,
Our stolen moments a fortnight past torture and torment me. The days away from your tender touch burn my soul like a thousand suns. Leave Jemmy and his Francophile dreams of recreating the Loire valley on...
What a great supporting cast. Pity they’re all there in support of Alexis Bledel. Then again, few working actresses are so weak they need that much support, so I guess it’s for a good cause.
The simple joys of reading
I was off the grid all day Sunday, finally cleaning my grill and reading. Spent about 10 hours just digging on “Anathem” and wishing I hadn’t had to come to work today so I could finish it. Damn responsibilities!
How can you not love a book with this exchange?
“Our opponent is an alien starship packed with atomic bombs,” I said. “We have a...

Raoul and Dave Confuse the World, Episode 25 →
Peter’s take on the “Radio Drama” edition of Sketchwar: episode 25 of “Raoul and Dave Confuse the World”.
Boring Science Fiction Theatre, Episode Three →
I suppose after all these years, I’m realizing that these tales are less “science fiction” and more “horror.” (Music intro, as before)

Wasting the company's money
(Tech-centric rant. Apologies in advance for the lack of funny.)
This is how I’m spending my morning, the same way I spent almost an hour yesterday:
Take ridiculously large file (last night’s was ~4500 lines long, this mornings about 17K lines) of customer email addresses that have bounced or in some other way failed.
Parse file.
Break into chunks ~500 addresses long. Why chunks?...
Star Dreck
I’m sure I could be less excited about the “reimagined” Star Trek. It could feature Paris Hilton as Yeoman Rand and music by Britney Spears.
Just when I was starting to be swayed by some of the people who’d seen it and been raving, I saw the ad tonight telling me it’s “not my father’s Star Trek.” Ah, I see. So it’s flashy, for the kiddies....

Some really fantastic sketches this week…and now here’s mine to muck it all up. I know very little about old time radio and absolutely nothing about the serials. So, I did something a bit different….
